How STEAM works

What STEAM is

Anyone can launch a pump.fun coin for any game on Steam from this website. Paste a store link like store.steampowered.com/app/413150/, an appid, or search the game by name. Every coin stores its recipient as a game key, steam:<appid>.

Many coins can point at the same game. Each one has its own escrow. There is no bot: launches happen on this website only.

The split

pump.fun creator fees are split on chain at launch, and the split can't change later:

  • 80% is held in escrow for the game's developer until they claim.
  • 10% buys back and burns the coin.
  • 10% buys back and burns $STEAM (held in the platform vault until the $STEAM mint is set).
  • The launcher gets 0%.

Launching

On Launch a Coin you pick the game, type a coin name and a ticker (never filled in for you) and upload your own image. The game's art is shown on our pages straight from Steam and is never part of a coin. You sign two transactions in your own wallet: the pump.fun create and the fee-share setup (0.01 SOL escrow setup, 0.02 SOL launch fee). Three launches a day per wallet.

Claiming fees

The developer connects a wallet on Claim fees and gets a one-time code (steam- plus six characters). They post it in a Steam announcement for the game, or in the store page About text, and press Verify. The server reads Steam's public news feed and store page; only the developer's own announcements count. If Steam can't be read, a person on the STEAM desk checks by hand. Once verified, everything held pays out and new fees go straight to the developer.

Unclaimed fees

Not claimed within 90 days of a coin's launch, its escrow buys back and burns the coin with its fees, and keeps doing so until the developer claims.

Opt out and block

A verified developer can opt out: the fees of the game's unclaimed coins buy back and burn instead, for good. They can also block any new coins for the game.

Custody and memos

Each coin's escrow is held by the STEAM keeper with an encrypted key. Its transactions are allowlisted, capped per day and public, each with a memo. On mainnet, claim payouts and buybacks are reviewed by an operator.

Disclosures

Not affiliated with Valve Corporation or Steam. Game names and art belong to their owners. Not affiliated with pump.fun. A coin launched for a game is not endorsed by its developer unless they claim. Memecoins can go to zero. Nothing here is financial advice.
